This book returns to the time around 1840, when the first doll heads made from glazed china with painted hair and eyes appeared. These heads were manufactured of so-called white gold which then was still traded as a precious material. Therefore, it is logical to assume that only the finest of articles were manufactured. This is especially true for the distinguishable, high quality dolls produced during this time. Unfortunately the period of manufacturing these china dolls ended around 1900. Collectors...
