Beetroot is one of Godminster's most successful crops, and last year they decided to turn it into a chutney to accompany their cheddar. Mixing it with apples from our orchards, they came up with a chunky beetroot and apple chutney – sweet to taste, not too vinegary, and with a deep purple colour, it complements cheese perfectly. It comes in a reusable kilner jar and also goes very well with smoked meats and baked potatoes.
