Background: This CD on the Octav label documents two alto sax geniuses, captured live in Sweden in 1950. Charlie Parker is considered to be the greatest saxophonist of all time. He is joined by Arne Domnerus, renowned in his home country as one of SwedenÂ’s top jazz musicians. Both artists were in top form in this concert.

Synopsis : This title contains performances from three different line-ups of Dizzy Gillespie's band. The first song, 'Hot House', recorded in New York in 1952, features Charlie Parker on alto sax. The next four numbers come from a show in San Francisco, filmed in 1961. The last song, 'Tin Tin Deo' was recorded in Prague in 1971 and features Thelonious Monk on piano, Sonny Stitt on alto, Kai Winding on trombone, Al McKibbon on bass and Art Blakey on drums.
