In 1990 when Ben Moon did the first 8c+ in the world, Hubble, he used a Mammut Galaxy. Around that time it was the lightest rope of its type around. Thats not true anymore, but it is still easily our best selling single rope. The tension on the sheath is tight, making it a stiff handling rope, but also making it last and last and last. Galaxys normally still look quite new when other thicker ropes have become big fluffy caterpillars. A highly recommended classic.

Duraflex (DF) is the next generation of Mammut's 'Classic' non-dry models. Due to an additional heat treatment process the DF ropes have a more SuperDry feel to them, being more supple and soft than the Classics. The process also increases the durability of the rope as the heat treatment provides a resilient barrier against grit, dirt, mud, salt water etc...

Sport climbers, single pitch craggers, or those stringing pitches together on longer routes will benefit from the weight advantage the Galaxy has to offer. Despite its low weight, this is a high strength and excellent handling rope, with low impact force and low working elongation. With a dry treatment to improve its winter and wet weather performance, this treatment also helps to protect the rope by reducing dirt and grit penetration.

Mammut Genesis 8.5 x 50M Classic Climbing Rope. If the Galaxy is the workhorse of the single rope market, then the Genesis must surely take the title in the 1/2 rope market. Again, the rope feels tough and wirelike, but give it a little time and it'll handle wonderfully, yet not fluff up like other ropes in its class. As they say, 8.5mm is the new 9mm. Another Classic. Duraflex treatment relaxes the rope from the start, making it feel like a Superdry rope.
