Blaser coffee from Harer, one of the highest areas of cultivation at all, is divided into shortberry and longberry. Longberry Harer is smooth, wine-like, notably spicy and bold with fine acidity, a coffee which compares to none. In the Jima region wild coffee is harvested at elevations of around 4,000 feet which is marketed as Lima and Babeka. Botanical evidence suggests that the coffee plant Coffea Arabica originates from Ethiopia. The most famous version of its origin tells how an Abyssinian goatherd named Kaldi became concerned when his goats didn't come home one night. The next morning he found them dancing in abandoned glee on their hind legs, close to shrubs whose red berries they had been eating. Kaldi tried the berries and it wasn't long before he was dancing too! Shortly afterwards Kaldi took the berries to a local monastery but...
