This negative point doesn't take away from the fun to be had when playing as a band or with the new peripherals however. The drums, microphone, bass and guitar are all easy to set up and use, however going back to a competitive players' point of view, you'll notice that on the new guitar there's a slider bar halfway down the main body of the guitar, meaning that players don't have to strum but instead just tap when playing certain notes, which again is quite annoying and takes away a bit of the skill...

On the plus side, we still prefer Guitar Hero's note charts. Yes, at times there's a tendency to stick a few superfluous notes into the song, but the majority of tracks give a good sense that you're actually playing the music through your miniature plastic axe. And we also like the fact that unlike Rock Band, you don't have to get the timing absolutely spot on; there's a little room for error.
