Advances include the ability to control Snake within 'Move' modes, while commands are displayed in real-time to facilitate quicker actions within action situations. MGA2 is further improved when the number of cards more than doubles from 200 in the first game to a huge 500. Hideo Kojima - what a genius! The game to beat all games. I highly recommend that if you have never played MGS that you do so. I tried it just because a friend of mine told me to. And I’m glad he did. It may not be a total blood fest but thats what makes this game so good. Stealth rather than slaughter - its far more enjoyable. A classic game which still seems modern today. One every true gamer must have for their collection.

The major concession to the handheld format which Portable Ops makes is that each of Snake's missions are broken down into smaller chunks, which take place within an enclosed area with clearly defined goals. Mostly, that goal will simply be to reach a certain marker on the map - although the game does occasionally throw in different objectives or level structures when the plot calls for them, there's a feeling that a bit more variety in general wouldn't have gone amiss. As it is, the bite-sized nature...

Another key addition to the Metal Gear mythos is a level of fallibility to Solid Snake. As the developing team look to continually evolve and develop the character, Snake is now prone to more human failings than in the past. His energy levels will flag faster depending on the terrain, with harsh climbs, lengthy fights and steep inclines rapidly depleting his reserves. In order to keep him at optimum performance, the player must kill and eat animals within the jungle, with Snake tucking into snakes...
