This picture is taken from a view seen when walking over Waterloo Bridge on a glorious sunny evening in June 2007. The sky was an incredible blue and I could hear a jazz band playing outside the National Theatre (the large block to the right). There was a real feel-good atmosphere about. I'm very pleased with the way this painting worked out. I had to give a lot of thought to the composition and scale but I think it works well.
