The Regal Gold Heater is operated by an electrical thermostat and an electrical solenoid valve which reduces output to just a small pilot flame as soon as the thermostat is satisfied. The electrical thermostat gives greater accuracy and consequently better control over fuel consumption but does require an electrical supply to operate.
