Dovo of Solingen Strop Paste (Non Abrasive)

Polishing the edge prior to stropping allows the edge of the blade to glide more freely across the beard to achieve a smoother effortless shave.

These strop pastes are graded by colours which relate to markings on the packaging (not the colour of the paste) which in turn indicate the coarseness of the paste. In most cases Yellow is all that is required – this is in fact not strictly speaking a sharpening paste but a fat which serves to condition the strop. This Dovo strop paste is a non-abrasive strop paste for every day use with your hanging leather strop. The paste will maintain the quality of the leather by preventing it drying out and cracking. This strop paste is sold in a 10g tube.

The Dovo of Solingen company was founded in 1906 by Mr Dorp and Mr Voos hence the name Dovo however shortly before the second world war Fritz Bracht took over the Dovo of Solingen company. With the introduction of the electric razor Dovo needed to create a second source of income. The Dovo of Solingen company began producing hair scissors and accessories for hair salons worldwide.

This is a two part set of abrasive pastes. The red is the coarser of the two with the finer black paste used for finishing off the cutting edge of cut throat razors, knives, fine cutlery and cabinet makers tools.
