Gibson have only produced 70 of these guitars as part of a strict limited run and they have been built exactly the same as the groundbreaking original J-160E's of the 1950s and '60s. The overall design is based on Gibson's timeless J45 acoustic guitar and boasts a series of intruiging appointments. The top of the body is made from three-layer laminated Sitka spruce, which is a material highly regarded for its resistance to feedback when used in the soundboards of electro-acoustic guitars.
