Details This classic blend was created by using the ancient technique of fermenting uncrushed berries with native yeast from the grapes. After aging for 1 year in French barrels, it was bottled without finings or filtration. A further 12 months bottle aging took place prior to release. In 1918 in the wake of the Great Flu Epidemic an orphanage, Die Herberg, was built by the Robertson community for the children left orphaned and destitute. In 2003 a 5ha vineyard was planted on the orphanage's grounds...

We bleed off some juice from our Mourvedre and Grenache after around 24 hours on skins, this year we did the same with some Cabernet Franc. Bright in colour -bright ruby/deep pink. Really bright nose with rosehip, redcurrant and cherrry. It's dry with lots of red fruits, again cherry and raspberry with som deeper berry notes, spice and pepper and just a touch of grip on the finish.
