The vines for DomaineBernardDefaix's Chablis are spread over 12 hectares, situated at the heart of the Chablisian vineyard. This wine is aged in stainless steel tanks so as to respect the typicity of the appellation, characterised by freshness, power and tenacity. The bouquet displays a dominance of mineral notes, which are often associated with delicate touches of citrus fruit (lemon and grapefruit). Overall 2008 was a balanced vintage, with vines benefitting from regularity over the growing season...
Chardonnay is a green-skinned grape variety. It is believed to have originated in the Burgundy wine region in France but is now grown wherever wine is produced. For new and developing wine regions, growing Chardonnay is seen as a “rite of passage” and an easy segue into the international wine market. The Chardonnay grape itself is very neutral, with many of the flavours commonly associated with the grape being derived from such influences as terroir and oak. It is vinified in many different styles...
DomaineBernardDefaix, Chablis 1er Cru Les Vaillons, 2011 (Case)
There is a deft touch of wood surrounding the white orchard fruit and honeysuckle aromas that have glimpses of oyster shell poking through. The rich, forward and relatively generous flavours possess a seductive mouth feel and excellent complexity on the dry for the vintage finish. This should age well for the medium term.
This historical premier cru belonged to the Crown several centuries ago; which explains its name. The premier cru Les Lys is situated between Chablis and Milly, near Les Vaillons. Planted by Bernard in the sixties, this plot used to be blended with the cuvée of Vaillons but is now vinified separately. This premier cru is characterized by aromatic richness and fineness on the mouth. The 2010 vintage was difficult, but a very promising vintage. Low yielding, the fruit was concentrated but the wines...

Domaine Des Marronniers ChablisBernard Legland Half Bottle France 2010 (12 X 37.5Cl)
Brilliant benchmark Chablis with clean, incisive Chardonnay fruit: green apples, hints of honey, lemon & limes, stony minerality and just a whisper of richness behind. No oak, just a pure Chablis style.
2010 Chablis 1er Cru Cotes De Lechet DomaineBernardDefaix
This Premier Cru represents 8 hectares on the slopes of the village Milly and on the right bank of the river Serein. BernardDefaix are the biggest owners of this cru. The remarkable stony and sunny soil is captured in this powerful and complex wine. It flourishes with age and expresses mineral aromas reminiscent of gunflint. The Côte de Lechet is deservedly one of the Premiers Crus of the Chablis, and its wines boast exceptional ageing potential. The 2010 vintage was difficult but vintage. Low yielding...
Domaine Jean DefaixChablis 1Er Cru Cote De Lechet Half Bottle France 2010 (24 X 37.5Cl)
A great intensity of flavour displaying full-biscuity notes. Predominantly flinty with aromas of butter cream, honey, green apples, white flowers and a touch of mint. Complex, with good concentration and freshness on the palate. Long, lingering finish.
