Wemyss Malts are all named after the flavours that have been found within each bottle. Their 1991 vintage Glen Scotia has been named "Strawberry Ganache" so expect sweet fruity and chocolatey notes throughout.

Glen Scotia 1991 single malt whisky is distilled in the Campbeltown whisky producing region. It is full of flavours that include brine, fish, smoke, wood all of which produce a great smooth easy to drink Scottish single malt whisky.

One of only three Campbeltown distilleries, with a history dating back to 1832. The whisky is softly peated with delicate nuttiness, but good body with an unctuous texture. The finish is clean and tangy with a slightly smokiness.

3cl / 46.00% - With the alluring name ""Strawberry Ganache"", this is a 1991 vintage from Wemyss Malts. It was distilled at Glen Scotia before maturation in a single cask for 21 years. There are 833 bottles available.

The distillery had a very stable existence throughout the last century. Up to 1895 it belonged to the original licensees, but then changed hands twice more before falling silent, as did so many of its neighbours, in the 1920s. For a while it belonged to the owners of Scapa distillery in Orkney, right at the other end of the country.

ABV: 40% Appearance: Amber. Nose: Slightly phenolic with a touch of oil and charcoal. Palate: Full-flavored with big peated notes and raisin and sweet fruit flavours. Finish: Long with spice, blossom and some herbal tones. Comment: Stewart, Galbraith and Co. built the distillery in 1832 in the heart of Campbeltown. This Old Malt Cask Glen Scotia was distilled in March 1992 and bottled in August 2010 from a bourbon barrel which produced 312 bottles. This is probably the best Glen Scotia I have had and if you are ever going to try a Glen Scotia then this would be it.
