Château Greysac Medoc 750ml
At £7.50 a bottle for a ten year old claret (half price) worth the risk and wished I had bought more (back up to full price now). Good colour, not as dark as some wine of it's age. Nice nose, complex, still some fruit, and slight smell of pear drops. Good complex mouthful - fruity with good tannins and decent length of taste. Slight vanilla finish at end. Needs drinking so I guess I'll have to finish the other 5 bottles pretty quick. Hard life.
Grape Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot Origin Situated in a gravel estuary in the hamlet of By in the Médoc, Château Greysac produces elegant, seductive clarets at excellent prices. The Cru Bourgeois classification represent the only classification of the Médoc since the famous 1855. Taste Aromas of classic cassic, black cherry, plum, vanilla and spice. A medium body consisting of ripe currants, tobacco and juicy plums, fine tannins, elegantly balanced fruits, and a lingering finish. Enjoy...
An excellent value Cru Bourgeois wine, offering plenty of classic Médoc flavours of cassis, black cherry and plum fruits, balanced by hints of vanilla and spice. Fine tannins give backbone to the wine.
