Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs 2002 is of course made with 100% Chardonnay and is great value for money. A pale golden wine with plenty of fine and stable bubbles. Plenty of ripe fruit on the nose, lemons and apricots, as well as the classic brioche note. The palate is complex with again plenty of ripe fruit but complemented by herbs and a pleasing floral character. Long and elegant on the finish.

Champagne Pol Roger was founded in 1849 and now owns 87 hectares of vineyards on prime sites in the Vallée d'Epernay and on the Côte des Blancs. Produced by Pol Roger, like all its Vintage styles, only in years when growing and harvest conditions can produce grapes of sufficient standard, the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay musts underwent 2 cold settlings before fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the fruit characteristics of the wine. The wine then had 15% still red Pinot Noir wine from the village of Chouilly added to the blend which was then transferred to bottle for its second fermentation and ageing in the cellars.

Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2000 is made with Pinot Noir (60%) and Chardonnay (40%). It is a golden wine with a plenty of fine bubbles forming a stable mousse. On the nose it is quite floral and has the classic traditional method aromas of biscuit and brioche. The palate is full with an appealing nuttiness complemented by stone fruit flavours and floral notes. Lovely finish, long and dry.
