Pros: This string I use as a G chanterelle on a hurdy gurdy. It is slightly lighter than the traditional 38thou gut but is still perfect for the job. Due to its long length, you can get two strings out of this by cutting it in half. Response is as good as any other gut string, and it is hard wearing due to the highly polished and oiled nature of the surface. Consistancy of the strings is high, with few soft spots or lumps, leading to good intonation.
