The vineyard for this flagship wine is located in Labastida where the hand selection of grapes allowed only the ripest and healthier fruit to make it to fermentation. It had a two day cold soak before fermentation began followed by 2 days post fermentation thus extracting all of the fine flavours and fine ripe tannins. It was then aged in both French and American oak barrels for 12 months before finishing for a further 4 months in purely French oak. The wine has a deep purple almost black colour...

The aromas remain youthful with plenty of ripe red and black fruit with hints of toast behind. This single vineyard Rioja from San Vicente de la Sonsierra in the Rioja Alta is an excellent example of the modern style of Rioja. Pure Tempranillo aged in new French oak that is still evident behind the ripe black fruit, coffee and spice aromas. From vineyards close to the village of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, this limited release wine is a blend of Tempranillo and Graciano that give a wine of cherry red colour and intese aromas of red fruits, balsamic notes,herbs, spice and rich toasted notes.
