I have been using this product in my tropical tank for 2 years and it still looks as good as the first day I bought it. I use it towards the front of the aquarium and have successfully planted many plants which are now thriving in it. It is slightly dusty at first and does need a good rinse but didn't effect the tank at all on placing. The fish look more vibrant and the shrimp are less shy on the darker substrate (Posted on 01/02/2013)

This was just the right amount for my 1ft x 3ft tank. The balance of colour is mainly white so the tank is bright looking. Hopefully the mix of other colours will reduce the visual impact of algae growth. The gravel is fairly course - about 7-8mm on the long edges with some larger and some smaller pieces.

The vivid colours make it also suitable for a variety aquariums including Tropical, coldwater and Marine. It will bring out the natural bright vivid colours of your fish.

Create a natural aquascape in your aquarium. The gravel is inert and prevents any adverse effects on water chemistry. Research shows that gravel provides an optimum surface for the colonization of beneficial bacteria, which in turn provide biological filtration for clear and healthy water. The gravel does require washing prior to use to remove any dust.

Although the look of the gravel fitted in perfectly with that i was going for, it did change the pH quite drastically, even though it says it doesn't affect it on the packaging. As soon as i got it, i soaked the majority in water for a day or two, then rinsed it with some of my own aquarium water, just to make sure that it won't harm my fish, i take quite alot of caution before putting anything in my tank, so the first hour when i put the gravel in was fine, but after that four of my platies died...

this looks very nice in the fish tank. from afar it looks similar to sand. very nice contrast between the fish and the gravel the only problem with this product, as with all white gravel, is that fish waste and uneaten food is more visible. great price though (Posted on 09/11/2012)
