It is also vital to map out that journey if we are to reach our goal: a world in which animals matter and cruelty to animals has ended. WSPA is looking at the world in which animals live today – how they suffer most, where they suffer most – and is considering the very best way we can end the suffering of the greatest numbers of animals...
It costs £300 to rescue each bear and much more to provide immediate and urgent veterinary care once they arrive at the sanctuary and then to look after them for the rest of their lives. We need as many people as possible to get behind WSPA’s Big Bear Rescue to raise funds that could help give long-suffering bears a happy home.

Your donation could help rescue the 20 or so bears still suffering in cruel and illegal captivity in Romania. But rescuing the bears is only the first step. Due to their captivity these bears will never be able to survive in the wild. The WSPA-funded sanctuary will provide them with the lifetime care that they truly deserve.
