Krug Grande Cuvée NV£100.00
Unusually among Champagne houses, Krug regard their non-vintage Grand Cuvée as their top wine, incorporating the best wines available to maintain the unique house style. Fermented in old Argonne oak barriques (unusually for Champagne) and aged for longer than many houses' vintage wines, the style is rich, with noticeable autolytic, yeast aromas, nuts, dried fruits and toast, yet with great finesse and complexity. Almost certainly the finest non-vintage sparkling wine in the world.

Marco do Pegões 2007 Terras do Sado Tinto£5.99
"South of Lisbon and north of the Algarve is the Terras do Sado. A trickle of great, cheap reds made from traditional Portuguese varieties in modern wineries have come our way from here in recent years. Wine - Bordeaux - The Right Bank - Cabernet Franc - Special Offer£9.99
"Château Ferrand has one of the oldest vineyards in the region. The soil in the vineyard contains a lot of iron and that, combined with the 60% Cabernet Franc in this wine, gives it the highly characteristic taste of Pomerol. The nose has wonderful leathery notes with aromas of pencil shavings. This follows onto the palate, combining with an earthy character, delicate cherry fruit and beautifully balanced acidity. This is a wonderful opportunity to buy a mature Pomerol ready to drink this Christmas...

Press Recommended - Manager's Choice - Special Offer - Malbec - Majestic Wine£11.99
" This is a deep, powerful wine with a palate of rich dark berries complemented by the savoury coffee and chocolate flavours with which Malbec, especially in it's adopted home of Argentina, has become synonymous. This is smooth enough to enjoy on its own but really benefits from food, it may be stereotypical to match Argentinean wines with steak but this proves how apt the pairing is, alternatively it will stand up to any rich sauces."

Muscadet de Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie 2008 Domaine de la Tourmaline£6.49
I bought four bottles of this wine because I had previously enjoyed a muscadet I bought from Majestic. It is the first time I have ever poured wine down the sink. It was acidic and totally lacking in body. I gave a bottle to my sister and her husband who drink wine with there meal every evening. They agreed with my assessment. I have one bottle left which I intend returning to the store. Perhaps someone can use it to cook with.
