The entire gate operation is based on the pedal placed at the foot of the gate, and you can just press it when you are about to pass through. But, your kid definitely cannot do the same so you can be assured. They are always pressure-mounted and will not spoil or damage your walls.
Auto close gates: If your tiny tot has an older sibling who cannot be depended upon to keep the gate shut at all times, you can opt for automatic gates. You can open them singlehandedly and it will automatically get closed. These gates are ideal for the top of a staircase.
