Baby Sweaters Buying Guide

Baby sweaters  are of great use especially during winter and cold months as they keep the babies cosy and warm.

Baby Sweater Patterns

  • Pullover baby sweaters  are simple ones that are most often available as one piece. The small slit at the sweater’s back helps in fitting over the head of the baby. They are available in various knitting designs and colours .
  • Cardigan  baby sweaters come with a front side open with a zipper  or buttons .
  • Baby shrugs  are a slight variation of the cardigans, worn on the shoulders for keeping the babies warm. These come with the front opening so that taking off and putting on is easy.
  • Hooded baby sweaters  are most often used when carrying the babies outdoors in cold or windy weather conditions.

Selecting Baby Sweaters

  • Baby sweaters should be chosen based on the measurements of the baby’s length (measured from the neck of the baby to its waist), shoulder to shoulder width and chest size.
  • One or two sizes bigger than the actual size of the baby can be selected as they tend to grow faster.
  • Wool ,cotton  and fleece  are generally used for making baby sweaters . The material used needs to be soft and smooth as babies are delicate darlings.
  • Patterns with a number of loose threads should be avoided as they might irritate the babies.
