Buell Motorcycles

! Erik Buell, a Harley Davidson engineer and racer, started Buell bikes. With the help of Harley Davidson in 1993, the two companies teamed up and Buell Motor Company was renamed Buell Motorcycle Company. Thus began a new era in Harley Davidson history, in which Erik Buell designed racing bikes that were based on the street bike design. ! A unique feature of Buell Motorcycles is the fact that the company produces 8 bikes a day, but all bikes are still handbuilt as well. When asked what distinguishes the Buell Motorycycle motor from the standard production sportser, Erik Buell replied:
''There's a different carburetor, and some different mount locations are machined in the cases. We have the European transmission which has slightly different gear ratios. That's pretty much it, mostly little things like where things are attached.''
