Swimsuits Buying Guide

Swimsuits are available in sizes to fit varying figures.

They can be made from cotton, spandex and nylon fabrics. Cotton swimsuits are suitable for sunbathing and dip in the waters but they are not very flattering. Spandex is a good fabric for sports as it stretches and offers a tight fit.

Styles of Swimsuits

Bandeau style: they are very chic and trendy and come in styles such as padded bandeau style, twisted bandeau and underwire bandeau.

Halter style: These swimsuits have ties that come up your chest and round your neck to be tied behind.

Athletic and sporty style: These swimsuits made of a stretchy fabric need to be supportive and highly durable. Racerback swimsuits and men’s surfing or diving suits are some examples of athletic swimsuits. TYR, Nike, Dolfin and Hydro are some popular names in athletic swimwear.

Designs

Some typical designs are v-neck swimsuits, swimsuits with a deep plunge and swimsuits with tie-up knots at the back or side. Dotted, striped, floral printed and two-toned swimsuits are some eye-catching designs. Keep in mind that bold patterns, horizontal stripes and large prints make everything look bigger.

Some Features

The leg cut is a factor which should be considered. You can go for deep cuts for maximum tanning or a classic cut that provides more coverage. Removable and adjustable straps are other versatile aspects. Those who indulge in sports may require features such as moulded cups and underwire support.
