Danish National Football Team

The Danes enter their fourth World Cup  after a six year absence from major international competition having missed out on qualification for World Cup 2006 and Euro 2008. With the core of the Danish team  playing for big European-sides in the heavyweight leagues, there is undoubtedly quality in the squad. The likes of Juventus ' Christian Poulson will be expected to provide some steel in midfield with Ajax  flyer Dennis Rommedahl charged with getting the ball into the danger area.  With Arsenal 's Niklas Bendtner  and captain Jon-Dahl Tomasson leading the line, Denmark have the personnel to prove a handful for any defence. Daniel Agger  of Liverpool  provides a cool-head in defence and should these five key players remain fit, Denmark will provide a stern test for any side.

Danish Football Legends

Michael Laudrup has to be considered the greatest Danish player of all time. A world-class midfielder, part of Johan Cruyff's Barcelona Dream Tream, Laudrup was a highly gifted passer and dribbler of the ball. With outstanding technique, touch and vision, Laudrup could split defences at will and was famous for his creativity in the middle of the park. Denmark can also boast one of the greatest ever goalkeepers - of any nationality - amongst their ranks. Peter Scmeichel was a 6'4" giant, famed for his intimidating presence between the sticks. An integral member of the Manchester United side that dominated the Premier League in the 1990s, Schmeichel was part of the Danish side that won the 1992 European Cup. Of the current players, it is Arsenal's Niklas Bendtner who has the greatest opportunity to impress at the 2010 World Cup.

Niklas Bendtner  has the opportunity to increase his reputation with a good showing at this years World Cup.	Peter Schmeichel  is one of the all time great goalkeepers.
