Dreamcast Buying Guide

Unless you are a game-system collector, the Sega Dreamcast  is probably not worth your time. Though it was a precocious system, it failed quickly as a CD-based system under the power of Microsoft's XBox , Sony's Playstation 2  and Nintendo's Gamecube . In Europe, it was discontinued in 2002, having been on sale for a mere three years. Because it is such an undervalued system, you may be able to find rather cheap versions of the system with high incentive packages to boot. Still, the Sega Dreamcast lacks the nostalgia qualities that many other gaming-systems still retain, so if you are looking for a throwback, try the Sega Saturn , or the Nintendo 64 , two systems with far greater longevity and game options.
