Eau de Cologne Buying Guide

Eau de Cologne  refers to a scented solution usually consisting of about 2 to 6 percent perfume concentrate -  or in layman's terms, it's watered down perfume. However, there's no reason to snub your nose at wearing eau de cologne. Men or women, a splash of this liquid will leave a pleasant scent without overwhelming whoever is sitting next to you.

Eau de Cologne contains a concoction of citrus oils which include oils of tangerine ,bergamot ,lemon ,lime ,orange ,grapefruit ,neroli ,lavender ,petitgrain  (orange leaf), rosemary ,thyme  and jasmine  in a base of ethanol (70-90%).

How to Choose Eau de Cologne?

There are a lot of brands out there and so also many types ranging from musky  and spicy  to classic  and fresh . If you are not a brand user or if you are willing to switch your autographic brand the first thing you will have to do while trying the new brand is to try it on your wrist.

How to apply Eau de Cologne?

Once you have bought for an Eau de Cologne bottle or if you have received one as a gift, the next question is how to apply it.

• Splash a bit of perfume onto your hands and then rub it quickly. Chafe it over your neck and also behind your ears.
• Shake a little of the perfume onto your palms and apply it as an underarm deodorant.
• Spurt a bit of perfume on a cotton handkerchief and rub it over your arms, legs, back of the neck or anywhere else - imparts a cooling sensation!
