A duvet is a bed covering that is filled with down, feathers and other such filling and is an alternative to a quilt or bedspread. Since a duvet cannot be washed, it is essential to use a protective duvet covers. A duvet cover is similar to a large pillow case. The duvet is placed inside and thus protected from dirt or damage. Moreover, a duvet cover can be washed and cleaned even at home.

  • By Material: They are made of materials such as cotton and silk.   
  • By Size: They can be classified in the standard bed sizes – King, Queen, Twin, California King and Full Size. 
  • By Style: They are available in different styles like contemporary, romantic, traditional, modern etc. 

Duvet Cover Closure

An important point to consider is the closure. The duvet cover has to be such that the duvet stays securely inside and does not slide out. Three ends of the cover will be closed. The open end will either be closed with a zipper, elastic loops, Velcro or press studs to keep the cover secure.
