Mobile Phone Headsets Buying Guide

"Am I talking to myself? No, I'm on the phone."  Hands-free headsets are continuing to gain popularity, allowing more people to order take-out and drive at the same time. With so many different styles and formats to choose from, finding which headset suits you isn't always the easiest. Do you need one to clip on ?  Do you prefer a cord attached? Do you like earbuds ? Would you rather have a microphone that hangs on a cord or is stationary ? No matter which form you choose, you will still be able to eat that sandwich while talking to your mother and driving to the market. But remember to make sure that the headset you buy is compatible with your mobile .

Bluetooth Headsets

These are popular forms of the standard headset, and because of the small size, it makes many appear to be talking to themselves. Loudly. But fear not, these handy gadgets are worth the accidental cases of suspected insanity: you can hear well, and the person on the other end can hear you because you're not changing phone positions or keeping the microphone too close to your mouth. You can charge them on your phone's charger, and you don't even need your phone out to end calls or call someone back. The over the ear format is helpful because it's more difficult to dislodge the headset, and one requires one ear and no hands. Most come in black or silver, although some are colourful .

Conventional Headsets

Complete Earpiece Sets  are popular with cyclists, skiers, and others who find themselves in need of communication while performing physical activities. These work with portable radios for added ease while skiing or riding. Comfortable design, fits over the ear, and the microphone doesn't pick up background noises.

Earbud Sets  are picking up attention because of the earbud trend, and many find these headsets easy to use, especially because of their size, which makes it able to fit into a pocket. Many come with a clip to attach to clothes, and some even have an answer/hang up button, so you don't need to dig out your phone to hang it up.

The Clip-on Boom Microphone  is somewhat of a combination of the bluetooth, the earpiece set and the earbud headset.  It clips onto the ear, and the microphone is on a boom, but there's also a cord which runs from the headset to the phone. The ear piece swivels, so it works with either ear. The microphone can be tweaked for a better position. It's small, but is more noticeable than the bluetooth.
