With heavyweight manager Ottmar Hitzfeld at the helm for the 2010 World Cup Finals, Switzerland will be aiming to be more than also-rans this time around. With a mixture of experience and youth, Hitzfeld will be expecting the seasoned forward and captain, Alexander Frei, to be his eyes and ears on the pitch and will hope that Bayer Levukensen midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta can pull the strings in the middle of the park. This will be Switzerland's ninth appearance, but they have never progressed beyond the quarter-finals. It will take all of Hitzfeld's considerable experience if they are to make it that far again.
