Towel Rails Buying Guide

An important bathroom fitting is the towel rail. It provides a corner where the towels you need can be hung or stacked. These rails are installed or fitted on the wall.

Materials and Styles of Towel Rails

  • Stainless steel towel rails are very common in any bathroom and are a rust-free alternative. The curved towel rail is another traditional space-saving structure.
  • Wrought iron or chrome plated towel rails come in many designs to suit varying bathroom décor and space. Many designer towel rails are available as luxurious add-ons.
  • Wooden towel rails in oak look very rustic and elegant. Keep them away from moisture.
  • Electric heated towel rails are also available to heat the towels at a set temperature for use during cold seasons. They have multiple rails on a single structure saving space. They come in brass finishes too.

Installation Location

In a bathroom, these rails must be fixed in a place where the towels would not get wet. It should not be placed very close to the shower or bathtub. However, it must be easy enough to reach from a shower or after washing up at the sink. The right position must be carefully chosen. Towel rails are also fitted near kitchen sinks.
