Ultimate Frisbee Buying Guide

Ultimate Frisbee is very popular with college students, as well as anyone who would like to be involved in a sport with no contact, can be played barefoot, requires only catching and throwing abilities, and is able to be played with as few as four members, or as many as you like. There are, of course, competitive teams, but a game of ultimate is great for barbecues, parties with family and friends, and can even be played by grandparents and others who aren't apt to run much. It's fun, it gets everyone involved, isn't too physical but it can be, less competitive than football (unless you have those friends or cousins who have to win everything) and can even be played in the dark (not recommended, but it can be fun and very challenging). If you feel inclined to start your own local league, or just want to have a new social activity that's not monopoly or Risk night with family and friends, ultimate Frisbee is easy to learn, and easier to play. There's sometimes slow-motionesque diving involved, so playing on concrete may not be the greatest of plans. And remember, for a fun, sunny, or even beach time activity, nothing's better than being prepared. Keeping a stocked cooler, sunblock, sunglasses, and possibly hats makes sure that everyone leaves with only minor bruises at worst, instead of dehydration, sunstroke, and wicked sunburns.
