If you need to know what time it is, chances are, you will probably just look at your cell phone or the top corner of your monitor. These days it seems that wristwatches are worn more as a accessory. While classic wristwatches with mechanical movements are the costliest of all, they are definitely worth investing in for their quality and fine workmanship. For children or sports enthusiasts, digital wristwatches or sports watches are preferable as they are much more durable and easier to read.
Wristwatches, depending on the price point and model, are made from a collection of materials such as leather, metallic substances, cloth fabrics (for instance, denim) or even plastic. The dials of a wristwatch could be made from mineral crystals which shatters easily but is hard to crack. Plexiglass, on the other hand, can get easily scratched but is hard to shatter. Synthetic sapphire is the most expensive kind of dial used in watches. They can get shattered easily but are impossible to scratch.
