Women's Sleepwear Buying Guide

When it's bedtime, what do you put on? If you're still sporting an oversize Beatles shirt  and boxers , that's fine, but it's nice to have the option to wear nice pyjamas  that are made especially for a woman's body. They're better than falling asleep in yesterday's skinnies, that's for sure. Real pyjamas  will keep you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Plus, trying out a sexy little number  every now and then can boost your confidence and maybe grab a little attention  from that special someone.

Pyjamas

As far as sleepwear goes, this is the function section, with warmth and comfort being the primary concerns. When it comes to pyjamas you want to feel relaxed, and anything that bunches, lifts, or requires tightening is right out. Remember to choose pyjamas with seasonally appropriate fabrics; cotton is breathable and suited to warmer seasons, while fleece, wool, and poly blends will keep you feeling snug all winter long.

Long Sleeve, Long Pants

  • There are tons of fun patterns and prints to choose from.
  • Satin  is just the material to add a little romance to your PJs.
  • Flannel  is a good option for the winter chill.
  • You can split up a set  on warmer nights.

Vest and Shorts

  • Comfortable and athletic.
  • Cute without exposing much skin.
  • Ideal for warm weather and for avoiding overheating in the winter.

Camisole Pyjama Set

  • Super comfortable and perfect for watching the telly on a lazy Sunday morning.
  • Adorable for sleepovers.
  • Show off your curves without showing everything.

Pyjama Pants

  • Warm and less embarrassing than hanging around in your briefs .
  • More versatile than a full set; you can wear bottoms with a T-shirt, vest, camisole, or sleep shirt.
  • Can be worn to relax around the house or thrown on to walk the dog.

Nightgowns

You may think that pyjamas cannot be sexy  and comfortable at the same time, but the two are not mutually exclusive. There are plenty of skin-bearing  seductive PJs  that are also easy to wear--it's all about finding the right fabric and fit for your slumber time. Some of these items may be seen as lingerie  rather than actual sleepwear, but trust us, these saucy items  are almost as cosy as anything cotton you can find.

Sexy Babydoll

  • Excellent for those looking to add some seduction to their sleepwear.
  • Want to actually sleep in it? Look for comfortable fabrics and a fit that isn't too tight or too loose. Make sure it isn't itchy either!
  • Get a matched set  for maximum allure .

Strappy Nightgown

  • Romantic and seductive without showing off everything.
  • They have a classic look that works on anyone.
  • Especially for mothers who want to look good in the bedroom but need to be able to answer a knock on the door from the kids.

Long Nightgown

  • Complete coverage for those who prefer more modest sleepwear.
  • Satin nightgowns  are really comfortable during the summer. Flannel nightgowns  are great for winter.
  • A good fit will keep it from getting twisted up while you sleep.

Sleepshirt

  • Comfortable  and modest.
  • Shows off a little bit of leg to keep you cool.
  • Just throw on some pyjama pants or a dressing gown  to answer the door.

Other Products

Of course, the above sections aren't the be-all end-all of women's sleepwear. Below are some other options that blend comfort and style .

Nightgown and Robe

  • Popular on honeymoons and other romantic getaways.
  • Can be sexy or demure as required.
  • Try satin or silk for that extra touch of luxury.

Babydoll and Panties

  • Super sexy  for bold women who love attention.
  • Want to send a clear message  to someone? This is your pick.
  • Plenty of choices in fit, style, and colour.

Lounging Pants

  • Similar to pyjama pants; can be paired with T-shirts and vests.
  • Some women hang out in these all day because they are so comfortable--they're a particular favourite for university students!

Sweatpants

  • Many have drawstrings. Feeling bloated? Loosen the drawstring. Sweats falling off? Tighten the drawstring or fold over the top to make them fit better.
  • Useful for yoga and some athletic activities.
