Bathroom Linen Buying Guide
High quality bathroom linen enables you to lead a healthy and hygienic life. Apart from being highly functional, they also lend a fresh look and feel to your bathroom’s ambience!
Kinds of Bathroom Linen
- Towels: Bath towels are the most significant requirements among bathroom linen. Many branded bath towels are available in fabrics such as Egyptian, Pima, terry, bamboo or micro-fibre cotton.
- Bath Sheets: They are larger than a usual bath towel and can be packed for a holiday trip.
- Bath Robes: They are generally made of lightweight polyester or cotton. They have to be very absorbent. They may come with shawl collar and pockets. Wear them on lazy Sundays or at bedtime!
- Kids Poncho Towels: They are an easy, absorbent option to use in the bathroom or at the beach! Get them in lovely cartoon characters and prints!
- Bathroom Mats and Rugs: They should be non slippery with a rubber backing. Rubber bath mats are perfect non-skid alternatives to cloth mats. Light coloured ones may get dirty sooner. Bathroom rugs offer anti-slip features when you step out of the shower.
Factors to Consider
- Dense bath towels are fluffier and more absorbent. Check the GSM (grams per square metre) of your towel at the shop. The higher it is, the denser your bath towel is.
- Basic, fluffy white towels are a classic choice. They remind us of luxurious five-star hotel rooms! But don’t go by the softness of the towel alone. Manufacturers may add softeners that wear out after a wash.
- A bath towel is made up of moisture-wicking loop stitching. If you can see the fabric underneath, then it’s not good enough to use as a bath towel. Also, check the bath towel for double-stitching.
