Bridal Accessories Buying Guide

Sometimes pulling off the perfect bridal look requires more than just a gorgeous gown --you need to accessorize.  From the jewellery to the shoes and purses, some of the smallest details can help complete one of the most special outfits you'll wear in your lifetime.   And if you're looking for some ideas on what will give your dress that extra oomph, take a peak at some of the products we feature below and then get to shopping!

Headpieces

Top off any gown with a beautiful headpiece. Crystal hair pins, floral headbands and dramatic veils are only a few of the options available to you, so every bride can add a little something to her hair to bring the bridal elegance up a notch. For more information on your array options, see our related guide on bridal hairpieces here.

Lingerie

Being a blushing bride may be all about what's underneath the gown! Get playful, seamless pieces that are sexy and functional. Lace corsets will cinch the waist and excite your soon-to-be hubby, while barely there thongs eliminate unsightly lines under the gown.

Shoes

Sure, everyone says diamonds are a girl's best friend, but let's not just toss aside the other close pals--the shoes! The style of the shoe will largely depend on the length of the dress, as short gowns that show your feet will allow you to be more playful or extravagant with your shoes, while long gowns may simply require higher heels.

Gloves

Gloves add a touch of elegance to a gown, and they are most often worn if the style is very formal. Some bridal gloves are wrist length while others extend passed the elbow, and some are fingerless to allow for a good view of that ring!

Jewellery

Many brides consider the jewellery to be the next most important piece of the bridal look aside from the gown. From dramatic chandelier earrings to understated pearl necklaces, you have a lot to choose from. Try to select something that complements the dress design. If it's more simple, add crystals. If it's more complex, stick to thin chains or stud earrings. Better yet, you can match your jewellery to your shoes or veil, if they are a complimentary colour to your gown.

Purses

While you probably won't carry your purse down the aisle, it may be a nice accessory to have before the ceremony begins, as well as for photos. A purse can contain your bridal emergency kit, complete with extra mascara, pantihose and maybe even some antacids. No one said the big day would be easy!
