Happiness is a warm puppy. If you don't want your dog leaping on and off your bed every night, you may want to invest in a dog bed. Dog beds can keep dogs warm, comfortable, and happy. There are even hypoallergenic and orthopedic dog beds for those pups with a few health issues. Here are a few things to consider when buying a bed for your favourite pooch.

Invest in a bed that is easy to wash. Dogs are messy. Dogs have accidents. So it goes. You don't have to kill your wallet replacing countless beds though. Get a bed that can be thrown in the wash.
Buy a water-proof bed. Even if your dog is clean, accidents are just that-- accidents. Unexpected, unplanned, unwanted accidents. Be prepared by having a dog bed that won't get ruined by moisture.
Put down puppy training pads if your dog is likely to have an "oops!" moment on the bed. Dogs usually avoid going to the bathroom where they sleep at all costs, but you never know what could happen, especially if you own a puppy.
Buy a dog bed large enough for your dog-- when sprawled out. Cats love to curl up into balls. Dogs, on the other hand, usually like to stretch out, making their bodies as large as possible. If you have more than one dog (and they are likely to share a bed together), invest in an extra large dog bed.
Does your dog have any allergies? Even if you aren't sure and want to stay on the safe side, get a hypoallergenic bed.

Make sure the bed is chew-proof, especially if you have a pup that is teething or likes to chew on everything.
