Makeup Tools Buying Guide

Makeup tools are needed for applying a lot of cosmetics. Some makeup products that don't need to be applied with a makeup tool (such as lipstick) look incredibly better when applied with certain tools. If you want to look your absolute best, here are some tools that you must have. For those who are more interested in experimenting with makeup, pick up a few of these tools and see if they fit into your makeup routine.

  • Want to apply foundation evenly? Then you'll need Makeup sponges! 
  • They are available in different shapes, such as round,  rectangular,  and wedge. 
  • These are one of the cheapest makeup tools on the market. Not only do they cost such a small amount, but they can also be reused, so long as you clean them after each use.

Sponge Applicators

  • These are perfect for applying eyeshadow. 
  • Sponge applicators are disposable and inexpensive.
  • They can be washed and reused as well.
  • Some are double-ended,  with a normal tip to apply eyeshadow and a narrow tip for applying eye liner.

  • Powder puffs  are perfect for applying face powder,  bronzer,  glitter,  or anything else that can be lightly dusted.
  • They can be washed, but usually die after a few washings. They are pretty inexpensive though, so don't worry about breaking your budget.

  • Tweezers can be used to keep your brows in shape, remove unwanted hair, take out ticks, and even come in handy for random household chores every now and then.
  • Make sure they are easy to grip. Look for tweezers with handles or grips to ensure that it doesn't slip when called upon.
  • Angled tips are great for shaping eyebrows, but straight tips are better for precisely removing single hairs or ticks.

Makeup Pencil Sharpeners

  • Makeup pencil sharpeners  are a must if you have the average eyeliner pencil.  
  • Eyeshadow pencils  also need to be sharpened. These are usually wider, so look for a sharpener with a standard hole and a bigger hole.
  • Sharpening  your eyeliner pencil not only keeps you looking sharper, but it also removes bacteria, making it safer to use!

Eyelash Curlers

  • Eyelash curlers  make your eyes pop. They are great for those with short or long eyelashes, and can dramatically improve your look.
  • Though they do look scary, they aren't. Curling your eyelashes doesn't hurt a bit.
  • Manual curlers  curl your lashes by pressure. These are common and inexpensive, plus they are easy to use no matter where you are.
  • Electric curlers  use heat like a miniature curling iron. They are significantly more expensive, but are said to produce more dramatic results.

  • Makeup cases  are great for storing all those cosmetics in one place.
  • Makeup bags  are usually soft and good for keeping in your purse or backpack. Makeup cases usually refers to harder models that are sturdy and protect and organize your makeup.
