Table Types

Introductory / Recreational Tables 

  • These tables are great for recreation rooms and youth.
  • Most offer durable construction that guard against scratches and dings from novice use.
  • Some fold away for convenient storage.

Laminate / Veneer Tables 

  • Laminate / Veneer Tables offer the look  and construction of solid wood without the cost.
    • They are built strong to last, yet remain very affordable.
  • Great introductory table for adults.

Solid Wood Tables 

  • Solid hardwoods are heavier, stronger and are better able to withstand stresses and wear common to pool tables
  • This table type is recommended for experienced pool players who are looking for a replacement table.

Professional Pool Tables 

  • These tables are preferred by pros and advanced league players.
  • They are built to the tightest industry specifications for the most challenging play.

Other Table Types

  • Snooker tables are extremely similar to pool tables with a few subtle differences:
    • Pocket sizes
    • Table length
    • Bumper design
  • Outdoor tables are specifically designed to be used and stored outdoors.  They are water-proof and usually constructed out of durable synthetic material.
  • Great for outdoor entertainment!

Things to Consider

Slate or Wood

  •  Slate bed tables are more costly, but won't warp as easily as wood bed tables.
  •  Wood bed tables are much cheaper, but tend to warp over time from changes in humidity.
  • Consider purchasing a wood bed table only if the primary users are children.
    • Virtually every laminate and solid wood table are only available with slate beds.

    • 48" cue needs an 11’ 6" x 14’ 6" room
    • 52" cue needs a 12’ x 15’ room
    • 57" cue needs a 13’ x 16’ room
  • For an 8’ table
    • 48" cue needs a 12’ x 15’ 6" room
    • 52" cue needs a 12’ 6" x 16’ room
    • 57" cue needs a 13’ 6" x 17’ room
  • For for a 9’ table 
    • 48" cue needs a 12’ 6" x 16’ 6" room
    • 52" cue needs a 13’ x 17’ room
    • 57" cue needs a 14’ x 18’ room
