Sewing Thread Buying Guide

Each sewing project requires something different dependent on what sort of project is being done. Using the same thread for mending a sofa and quilting for your loved ones just won't work, based on the fact that the threads required for both activities are completely different, and each project will most likely require a separate thread: a general purpose thread for mending shirts and resewing buttons, a lightweight or fine thread for stitching lightweight fabrics, a heavy duty one for tough fabrics like upholstery, etc. There are also colour considerations, for larger projects; having a thread that matches the fabric in flexibility as well as colour is very important. Making sure that the thread is compatible with the fabric as well as your machine, if you're working with one, is also important.
