Wedding Attendants Guide

Are you planning a wedding?  Or have you been chosen to be in one?  Either way, you have come to the right place!  We are here to fill you in on the traditional responsibilities of the wedding attendants,  while providing style tips and advice so that you can make that special day as beautiful (and relaxed) as possible.

The Groomsmen

The groom's close friends and relatives, the groomsmen, are there to support him through the planning process.  Their most important job is to keep the groom calm on the big day! 

The Attire

These gents will have to rent a tuxedo in the style and colour that the groom sees fit.  Be sure to book the fitting early, because no guy wants to be walking down the aisle in floods. 

Stag Weekend

It is the duty of the groomsmen and best man to plan those special nights of boy bonding before the wedding.  This is a good time to get away from the wedding stress at a good hotel with some good drinks and good company. 

Wedding Duties

The ceremonial duties include keeping the groom calm and collected while multi-tasking to make the wedding guests feel comfortable in their seats.  Groomsmen should also plan to give a killer speech at the reception.

Gifting

Sometimes the entire gang of groomsmen will pitch in together to buy the newly-weds  one fantastic wedding gift.      

The Bridesmaids

A wedding day is unlike any other, and along side of the bride every step of the way are a group of her closest gal pals -- the bridesmaids.  From plans to parties, there is a lot of material for these girls to cover.   

The Attire

Bridesmaid dresses come in a variety of shapes,  sizes,  and colours.   The bride will ultimately make the decision but the bridesmaids should be able to give a little bit of their input about style as well.  Shoes  and jewellery are a unique choice, as bridesmaids do not have to be exact clones. 

Pre-Wedding

To prepare the bride for her special day, the bridesmaids have the option of planning and organising a bridal shower along with any festivities for hen night.      

Wedding Duties

Helping the bride get ready and keeping her composed are just a few of the duties that the bridesmaids will have to undertake.  These ladies have to ensure that the bride makes it to the altar!   

Gifting

Though the bridesmaids are often the ones receiving gifts from the bride, it is always an option for the girls to pitch in as a group and give the newly-weds a nice gift together.
