Standard retail price: £53.94 "...the firmer, drier, damson and sage scented 2007 Teichert Range Petite Syrah, lodi." Recommended by Tim Atkin, The Observer, August 2009 This Petite Syrah from Lodi, California, is a full, peppery style of red typical of the variety. It's vibrant flavours include ripe damson and mulberry fruit compote and the 'mouthfeel' is notably smooth and rich, with a hint of black pepper on the finish You must be 18 or over to purchase this product

Richly fruited and distinctly varietal, this Syrah unfurls to reveal the delicately floral fragrance of violets, black olive and the spice of freshly ground black pepper. A subtle sweetness of toasty French oak and ripe yet tight tannins means this fleshy, concentrated wine will broaden into a smoothly textured, complex Syrah.

The Shiraz on Iona started as a nursery error ... When we planted our Cabernet Sauvignon, unknown to us (and hopefully the nursery!), we were supplied with approximately 600 Shiraz vines. This was only discovered when we were ready to harvest our first Cabernet Sauvignon and we found grapes interspersed in the vineyard that were not quite ready. They were identified as Shiraz and left to ripen and were harvested in early May 2004. The quality was outstanding and as a result we planted another 4ha...

The estate became part of The Hess Group in 1995 and since then the winery has undergone constant remodelling and expansion. The talented Walter Finlayson, the twice lauded ‘South African Winemaker Of The Year’ stepped down in 2003 handing over the winemaking responsibilities to his son David, who has extensive experience in Australia, California and at Château Margaux in Bordeaux.

Quarry Road Estate vineyard is planted adjacent to a silicious quartzite (rotten rock) quarry, contributing to a unique terroir within the region itself. New Zealands third largest Lake Waikare gives the vineyard its own microclimate producing thermal up draughts and together with the rocks greatly increase fruit quality. Toby Cooper and Jenny Gander believe in minimal interference, low yields and direct viticultural control.

South African White Wine 75 cl Bottle To create this fresh and deliciously vibrant, aromatic and dry wine, they cleverly harvested an early picking of Sauvignon Blanc to maximise citrus flavours and then a week later, they had a second picking of riper and more intense grapes to add tropical fruit flavours. The combined blend results in a white that is lively and finely balanced. Flinty mineral notes backed by ripe green figs and grapefruit on the palate make this a cracker of a wine. This superb...

3 Stones is a collection of wines from small vineyards across New Zealand – The Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are from Blenheim in Marlborough, whilst the Riesling is from the Hawkes Bay area of the North Island. All the wines combine fresh varietal character with a real vinosity, making wines for easy current enjoyment yet retaining character and style. A good selection.
