Computer Mouse Buying Guide

Overview

Nowadays, it goes without saying that everyone needs a mouse. These cute, furry creatures are small in size and easy to care for, provided... hm? What's that? We're not talking about mammal-type mice, you say? Oh, well, that's a bit... embarrassing. Can't we edit that out of the guide? We can't? That seems strange, but I will press on.

My early statement, thankfully, still remains true; everyone needs a mouse. Whether you prefer trackballs wireless mice mice with five buttons or mice with eight, everyone needs a device for the various pointing, clicking, dragging, scrolling and selecting they do throughout the day. Whether you're a gamer or office employee, you'll find here a selection of the finest mice available from Logitech Microsoft Apple  and more.

Wireless Mice

Wireless mice  are great for, well, those who don't like the freedom of not being connected to anything. Wireless mice allow you to be detached from your computer; surf the web from across the room, control your home theatre PC from your couch. Wireless mice give you the freedom to be anywhere. There are really only two downsides. The first is batteries; wireless mice must be independently powered, and can eat through batteries if you're a heavy computer user. Thankfully, most wireless mice produced currently come with some kind of rechargeable battery pack or recharging base station. Secondly is lag. Some users have reported a few millisecond difference between when they point the mouse and when the pointer reacts on-screen. Your mileage my vary, however, so try before you buy, if possible.
